The latest version of Ferrari’s mid-engine sports car is the completely redesigned 488. With a twin turbo V8 moving the car from 0-62 mph in 3 seconds flat, it is an exhilarating vehicle to pilot. Luckily for Denver Colorado 488 owners, we have some of the best driving roads in the country. In order for this 488 to be fully enjoyed and driven hard, we took on the task of making sure that damage from rock chips and road debris was not on the driver’s mind at all! By combining the latest technology in New Car Protection to include XPEL Clear Bra and GYEON quartz Coatings, we can turn over a car that looks better than the day it was purchased and ensure it stays looking that way for many years to come. How do we do it?
Every project begins with a complete decontamination of every inch of the vehicle. We want to ensure that no loose dirt migrates in to the Paint Protection Film application area during install and we want to make sure we have a perfectly clean and pure paint surface to work with. This is done through several washes, Iron decontamination, and our Clay Bar process. Once the paint is completely clean we can evaluate it for factory paint defects and any damage incurred during transport.
Ferrari is notorious for extremely poor paint finishes, and this 488 Spider is no exception. Every inch of the cars paint was covered in factory sanding marks and machine polishing defects. In order to experience the maximum color, gloss, and depth from this paint system we must correct these defects. We do this using the Rupes Bigfoot Polishers and GYEON quartz Compounds and Polishes.
You can see a noticeable difference in the pre polished right side of the tape line and the polished and complete left side of the tape line.
Now that the paint is in order it’s time to protect it! We use a combination of XPEL ULTIMATE Clear Bra and GYEON quartz Coatings to make sure this paint looks good for years to come. The XPEL Paint Protection Film is an 8.5 mm thick optically clear urethane that will absorb and disperse the impact from road debris and keep it from damaging the paint. This 488 received our Driver’s Protection Package which covers the Front Bumper, Headlamps, Full Hood, Full Fenders, Rocker Panels, Rear Bumper Impact Area, Side Mirrors, and Door Cups. ;
The GYEON Coatings will deliver a ton of gloss, real protection from UV and chemical damage, and make regular maintenance washing extremely fast and easy.
With the Clear Bra and Quartz Coatings installed, this 488 can now be enjoyed fully in Denver without worry of road debris causing rock chips or the intense environment breaking down the finish. Final shots!
