Audi RS5 in for XPEL Clear Bra and GYEON quartz Ceramic Coatings in Denver

The 2018 Audi RS5 is a great mixture of performance and luxury. The 2.9 liter bi-turbo 6 cylinder engine pumps out 444 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque. To make sure this car can be driven hard without any worry that the Nardo Grey finish is being damaged we went with our most popular combination of services: the Driver’s Package in XPEL ULTIMATE PLUS Clear Bra and our Level 2 GYEON quartz Ceramic Coating Package. The XPEL Clear Bra will provide protection from road debris impact that causes permanent and unsightly rock chips. The GYEON quartz Coatings will offer long term and real world protection from UV and environmental impact while adding tons of gloss and making the protected surfaces very easy to clean. So how do we do it?

Each project starts with a thorough cleaning and decontamination of every surface of the car. Your brand new car has been through months of traveling by train and boat, as well as sitting at the dealership. We need to make sure all above surface and below surface bonded contaminants are removed from the paint so that we have perfectly clean surfaces to work with. This is done through several washes with GYEON quartz Q2M Foam and Q2M Bathe, GYEON quartz Q2M Iron decontamination, as well as our Clay Bar Process. The time and care taken to prepare the vehicle is an extremely important part of the process.

While the car is being cleaned, the XPEL Clear Bra is also being prepared. We use the XPEL DAP Design Software to custom design coverage for each vehicle. The software provides us with thousands of perfectly fitting patterns for every inch of the car. We then go in and manipulate those patterns by extending edges, dragging curves, removing side markers, or anything else that we would want to do to provide the best coverage possible while hiding the film everywhere we can. This allows for a custom install with wrapped edges that does not involve placing a carbon razor blade over your brand new paint. Using the patterns and software also allows for complete uniformity around areas that require an exposed edge: a perfect circle cut around a small parking sensor for example. This uniformity allows for a near invisible installation as there are no inconsistency’s for the human eye to pick up when looking at the car.

We also want to perfect the paint itself before we protect it long term. We use the RUPES Bigfoot Polishers to remove the defects in the paints clear coat. Once these defects are removed light can reflect cleanly and give us the best visual experience of the paint possible.

Time to install the Clear Bra! We went with our Driver’s Package which protects the Front Bumper, Headlamps and Fog Lamps, Full Hood, Full Fenders, Rocker Panels, A Pillars and Roof Strip, Rear Bumper Impact Areas, Side Mirrors, and Door Cups from road debris that can easily chip and damage the paint. If you spend any time driving in Colorado you know you are 100% going to incur this type of damage.

Once the film is installed and allowed to dry, we perform a complete vehicle wipe down in GYEON quartz Q2M Prep. This removes all polishing oils, lubricants, and remnants of installation gel before the coating stage begins.

After the Q2M Prep stage it is time to apply the GYEON quartz Ceramic Coating. We went with Q2 Mohs+ for the RS5. This coating is amazing. It is a two part separate base coat/top coat chemistry designed to last at least 5 years with proper maintenance. The gloss is superb and its ability to reject dirt and contaminant easily makes washing the car very fast, simple, and safe in terms of washed induced marring. The Wheel Faces and Windshield are also coated in Q2 RIM and Q2 VIEW respectively to round out the Level 2 GYEON quartz Coating Package.

This RS5 can now be driven year round, well protected, and worry free of any damage during normal use. When you choose a new car protection package at this level, you are investing in the enjoyment of the vehicle by taking the worry of damaging the paint out of the equation so you can have fun in the car.
